SHE
Ming-Hwa Yeh revisits seminal female dancers of the 20th century and reflects on her journey as a dancer and choreographer. From the archive of dance icons and her own memories, she sees a woman who takes off her pointe shoes and returns to embody tradition; a figure that lingers in the city and bathes in nature, and bodies that store metaphors of their time.
As her own body moves across space, Ming-Hwa shifts into realms of identities that play out on the female body through generations of history, cultural gaps and self-determination. Every ‘she’ is a potential ‘me’.
